Q: Is the pattern inlaid or just printed?

A: It’s a high-density surface print on the plastic. The contrast is sharp and clear, offering a very beautiful visual rendering, but it is not a genuine mother-of-pearl inlay.

Q: Is the adhesive likely to damage the varnish if I decide to remove the pickguard one day?

A: The adhesive is designed for modern instruments. To remove it cleanly, we recommend heating it very slightly with a hairdryer (at a good distance) to soften the glue, then pulling very gently. A little lighter fluid will clean any residue without attacking a standard polyurethane varnish. However, be careful if you own an old instrument with a fragile nitrocellulose varnish.

Q: Can I put it on my classical guitar?

A: Technically yes, but it’s not recommended. Its curve is cut to align with the soundhole of a folk guitar. Furthermore, classical guitars do not traditionally use this type of plate (with the exception of transparent “golpeadors” for flamenco playing).

Q: Will the thickness of the plastic muffle the sound of my guitar?

A: Rest assured, the impact on the soundboard’s vibration is totally imperceptible. The plastic is calibrated to block plectrum strikes without hindering the instrument’s sound projection.

Q: How do I clean the plate without erasing the gold or white details?

A: A simple wipe with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth after playing is perfectly sufficient. Avoid aggressive solvents or alcohol, which could attack the print in the long term.
