“Vintage Custom” Bass Strap (Genuine Cowhide Leather & Padding)

If your instrument weighs a ton – we’re looking at you, bassists and Les Paul owners – this strap is probably the smartest investment you’ll make this year.

Made from genuine cowhide leather, it features a natural aged finish that will beautifully patina over time, giving your instrument that authentic “road-worn” look from the first use.

But the real asset of this model is what you don’t see at first glance, but what you’ll feel immediately: comfort.

With a generous width of 8 cm and an internal lining incorporating high-density foam, it distributes the load over a larger area of the shoulder.

No more thin straps digging into your trapezius after 30 minutes of rehearsal. The adjustment system is done the “old-fashioned” way by insertion into slots (“slot-through” system), which eliminates any plastic or metal buckles that could scratch your bass’s finish.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the leather stiff at first? A: Like any good quality genuine leather, it may feel a bit firm out of the package. This is a sign of quality. It will naturally soften after a few hours of playing to perfectly conform to the shape of your shoulder, unlike synthetic leathers which crack over time.

Q: Is this strap suitable for a light acoustic guitar? A: Technically yes, it will attach without a problem. However, with its 8 cm width and thickness, it might look “oversized” for a small folk guitar. It is really designed to support heavy instruments like electric basses or massive solid body guitars.

Q: How does the buckle-free adjustment system work? A: This is the classic system for high-end leather straps. You pass the thin part of the strap (the “tail”) through the different slots cut into the wide part. Once in place, the friction of the leather maintains the adjustment. The major advantage is that there are no hard parts that could hit your instrument.

Q: Does the internal padding make you sweat? A: The internal lining is designed to be comfortable, with grooves that allow for some air circulation. Of course, on stage under the spotlights, you always sweat a little, but the width of the strap avoids the “tourniquet” effect and remains much more pleasant than a standard nylon strap.

Q: How do I care for the leather of this strap? A: A simple cleaning with a dry cloth is sufficient for dust. Once or twice a year, you can apply a special leather nourishing milk to the outer (brown) side to maintain its suppleness and revive the patina. Avoid wetting the internal padding.
