Xun Ceramic 10-Hole (埙) “Spirit of the Earth” – Double Cavity – F or G Tone

Xun Ceramic 10-Hole “Spirit of the Earth” (Double Cavity) or the Ancestral Ocarina for Meditative Music

Discover the “Xun”, a globular wind instrument (basically, an egg-flute) that is one of the oldest in China. Forget the “click-clack” of picks, here we’re talking about ancestral sound.

This instrument is a piece of craftsmanship. Made of natural ceramic, it is hand-carved with a “cracked earth” texture and has no paint. Its ovoid shape is designed to fit perfectly in the palm of the hands. It’s the anti-kazoo: it’s heavy, it exudes authenticity, and it demands respect.

Its technical advantage? The double cavity. Unlike a standard ocarina, an internal wall separates the instrument into two chambers, which (apparently) greatly improves resonance, breath stability, and harmonic richness. This is the “pro” version of the Xun.

With 10 holes and a range of 2 octaves, it allows for expressive playing, perfect for traditional, meditative music, or to accompany your Tai-Chi sessions. It comes with a carved wooden base for display (because yes, it’s also a decorative object).
